COMMONWEALTH HEADS OF GOVERNMENT MEETING. The commonwealth is a voluntary association of independent nations. Its members are pledged to consult together and to cooperate in the common interest of their people and in the promotion of international understanding and world peace.
The (Rs2.00.) stamp is based on a painting showing a Goanese couple of early nineteenth century, The other stamp (Re1.00.) depicts the logo of the commonwealth, surrounded by doves forming a wreath encircling the logo.
