Children’s Day 14.11.2013

This year’s stamp is based on a painting made by Mayouri Sarma. The First Day Cover and Information Brochure are based on the paintings made by ‘Rupsa Sen Gupta’ and ‘Salvya S. Raj’ respectively.
Every Year, India Post organises ‘Design a Stamp’ contest and winning entries are selected for depiction on Stamp, First Day Cover and Information Brochure. The same are released on Children’s Day. The theme of the competition this year was ‘A Holiday’. Children have used their imagination and creativity to depict enchanting holiday moments which remain embossed in their minds as precious memories.
Holidays are associated with the vivid feelings of happiness, connectedness, discovery, laughter and love. With life so busy these days, it is important to allow children the time to relax, to dream, to break from schedule, to play, discover and connect with friends and family. This also broadens the horizons of children and opens their mind to new learning.
