International Conference on Youth Tourism 1991, New Delhi 18.11.1991

This conference, which took place in India in 1991, brought together representatives of government agencies and administrations, youth and youth tourism organizations, the tourism sector, universities, research institutions, international non-governmental and intergovernmental organizations to discuss the theme of youth tourism. 

The specific objectives were to analyse the nature and importance of the youth tourism market, defined as encompassing those aged 15-29; examine the policies, services, products and facilities destined for this market; investigate the role and functions of governments, the operational sector and other organizations and agencies concerned with the development and promotion of youth tourism; examine the special needs of developing countries in this sector; and formulate practical policies and directives for the development and marketing of youth tourism at national, intra-regional and inter-regional levels.
