Sixty years ago the world witnessed the historic event of the Great October Socialist Revolution. The success of the October Revolution was a major mile-stone in the history of mankind. Its message of equality between man and man, irrespective of race, creed or colour, has served as a source of inspiration to millions of people throughout the world. The friendship between India and the Soviet Union has stood the best of time since it is based on the principles of equality and mutual benefit and affects the common desire of the peoples of the two countries for international peace and understanding.
The Indian Posts and Telegraphs Department brought out a stamp to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution. The stamp shows the Kremlin Tower, and in the background is the Soviet flag.
