The Indian Posts and Telegraphs Department commemorated the 5th Asian Table Tennis Championship 1980 with a special stamp. Special Cancellation and Special Cover. The cancellation depicts a table tennis player as well as the inscription in Hindi and English.
The 5th Asian Table Tennis Championships were held in Calcutta from 10-18 May 1980. The Bengal Table Tennis Association hosted the Championships under the aegis of the Table Tennis Federation of India. The venue of the Championships was the Netaji Stadium at Calcutta.
